About DailyDex

DailyDex is a daily Pokémon guessing game. Every day at midnight a new challenge appears: five cries, and one question — who is hiding in the tall grass?

How a run works

The five questions get harder in one specific way: the help disappears. You start with three names to choose from, then four, then six. For the last two cries there are no options at all — you type the name yourself.

You can replay a cry as many times as you like — replays never cost you anything.

Why the wrong answers look so plausible

The names you see are never picked at random. Every question builds a family first — the water partners, one single type, the small ice types, Pokémon of the same colour, the legendaries — and then draws every option from inside it, the right answer included. Nothing sticks out, so guessing by elimination doesn't work. You have to know the cry.

The archive

Every past challenge stays playable forever. Archive runs don't count towards the ranking or your daily streak, so nobody can farm a better score after the fact.
